We are Elbe1, a team of engineers, advisors and certification experts with a shared commitment to making offshore wind projects successful. Our strength lies in combining deep engineering knowledge with regulatory insight, giving clients clarity in complex environments.

Founded in 2016 in Dithmarschen as a one-person office, Elbe1 has grown into an international advisory firm. Since 2019 we are part of the SeaRenergy Group, working within a network that covers the entire offshore wind value chain while keeping our independent spirit.

What defines us is a straightforward culture: precise, solution-focused and close to the realities of projects. With experience from more than 40 offshore wind projects in over 10 countries, we continue to grow with the energy transition.

Key milestones defining our role in offshore wind advisory.

2016

COMPANY FOUNDATION
On 24 November 2016, Elbe-1 GmbH | Engineering & Permit was officially registered in Lieth, Dithmarschen, by founder Hagen Heesch. The original name reflected the company’s focus on engineering and permitting, while Lieth was chosen as a strategic location between the North and Baltic Sea offshore wind markets.

2019

PART OF THE SEARENERGY GROUP
In 2019, Elbe1 became a 100% subsidiary of SeaRenergy Offshore Holding GmbH and moved its main office to Hamburg. This step strengthened Elbe1’s role as an independent technical advisor while providing direct access to the Group’s full offshore wind value chain.

2022

RENAMING: RENEWABLE ENERGY ADVISORS
On 12 December 2022, the company was renamed Elbe1 GmbH | Renewable Energy Advisors. The new name underlined Elbe1’s profile as an independent technical advisory firm within the SeaRenergy Group and its focus on renewable energy projects.

2023

NEW LEADERSHIP TEAM
In 2023, Bennet Möller and Jelte-Steffen Hipp were appointed as Managing Directors of Elbe1. Both have been part of the company since its early days – Bennet joining in 2016 as a Technical Project Manager and Jelte contributing as one of the first freelancers. Their long-standing involvement reflects the continuity of Elbe1’s development and its leadership.

2025

TEAM GROWTH
By 2025, Elbe1 has grown from its one-person foundation to a team of 26 experts, supporting more than 40 offshore wind projects in over 10 countries. This dynamic growth underlines the company’s development into an established technical advisor – a trajectory that continues as offshore wind expands worldwide.

Vita Andreas Puls

Andreas assumed the role of Managing Director at Con4Mare in 2023. Graduating with a degree in physics, specializing in material science, he shifted to project certification for offshore wind farms in 2011. With over a decade of experience across various positions, he has spearheaded numerous projects in certification.

Vita Alexander Vogel

Alexander, holding a diploma in Naval Architecture, has been Managing Director at Con4Mare since 2013. With over 15 years of distinguished experience in the offshore wind industry, he has led international projects in various roles, specializing in Marine Operations and Marine Warranty Survey. Additionally, Alexander is an authorized expert by HDT for cranes and lifting equipment, as well as in the examination of wire ropes in cranes

Since 2023, we have embedded sustainability concepts into our daily operations through an internal awareness initiative. This initiative includes educational materials, practical tips, insights on current topics, and interactive events such as the Green Kayak Tour or excursions on environmental topics. We also prioritize suppliers for after-work and customer events that incorporate ecological aspects, such as the “Energiebunker” in Hamburg Georgswerder. Our daily operations reflect our commitment to sustainability, from an electric company pool car and company bikes to sourcing sustainable electricity and gas. 

Vita Bennet Möller

Bennet Möller, Managing Director of Elbe1 since 2023, initially joined the company in 2016 as a Technical Project Manager. Throughout his professional career he has acquired extensive experience in renewable energy project development and construction across Europe, the US, and APAC regions, consulting on various aspects such as M&A, TDD, EPCI and compliance management  of offshore wind farms. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering.

Vita Jelte-Steffen Hipp

Jelte-Steffen Hipp, Managing Director of Elbe1 since 2023, has more than 15 years of experience in renewable energy, demonstrated in several international engineering projects, as well as certification, service, and warranty cases. He holds a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Energy Systems from Chalmers (Gothenburg) and a Bachelor’s in Energy and Environmental Engineering from TU Hamburg. 

Vita Hagen Heesch

General Manager, CTO

Hagen Heesch, founder and initial owner of Elbe1 GmbH, joined SeaRenergy in 2019 and was appointed as CTO (ppa) in early 2023, overseeing SeaRenergy’s engineering activities.

With a degree in Civil Engineering, he brings 15 years of offshore wind experience, specializing in design, certification, and permitting consultancy. Before his entrepreneurial career, he worked at DNV-GL.

Vita Natalia Kress

General Manager, COO

Natalia Kress joined SeaRenergy as General Manager (ppa) in 2017. In early 2023, she was appointed as COO at SeaRenergy, overseeing the Sales & Execution department.

She has 15 years of experience in the offshore industry, especially in the installation and operation phases of offshore wind farms with a particular focus on heavy lift vessels and O&M offshore logistics. 

Vita Jan Boje Steffens

Jan Boje Steffens is the co-founder of SeaRenergy. He has more than 30 years of experience in the shipping industry, especially in the segments of breakbulk, heavy lift, and project cargo.

 

Until 2012, Jan was CEO and Partner of the Rickmers Group. Thereafter, he took the post as Managing Director of SeaRenergy.

Naval architect Johann Philipp joined SeaRenergy’s BorWin / HelWin Project Team in September 2011 as an engineering consultant. He formally joined SeaRenergy in January 2013 and became General Manager (ppa) in 2016. 

With more than 20 years’ experience in structural engineering, Johann possesses a wealth of knowledge in conceptual and detailed ship design issues, technical project planning, and marine warranty surveys.

Benjamin Vordemfelde joined SeaRenergy as Head of Business Development in 2013 and became Managing Director in 2014.

He has extensive corporate experience including 15 years of involvement in the shipping and media industries in the fields of Business Development, Investor Relations, Public Relations, and Asset Management.
